If land has to be purchased

the probable price of the proposed site and the cost of

land in the neighbourhood should be ascertained.

The position should be sufficiently unscreened (1.8. in open country) in the direction in which communication is

donirad (or in which there is any strong reason to suppOSS communication my hereafter be desired). The immediate

vicinity of wooded ground say, within half a mile of any

part of the aerial wire system is objectionable and should

be avoided if possible. Hills of an abrupt character,

and mountains should be avoided, Grass land is preferred.

The ground should be suitable for foundations

and anchorages for at least 300 ft. mate each of 30 tons

weight without danger of subsidence of movement of ground.

(5) The site should be so chosen as to enable the

operating house to be situated where there is no liability

to external disturbances by railways, road traffic,

steamship syrens, fog homs, or other sources of disturbing

(6) The site should be in a position as little
